MEMBERSHIP STATUSES

SPRING 2024

Status changes for spring 2024 will close on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. If you are considering a status change, please review the membership status options and criteria below. To apply for a status change you must contact your chapter's member-at-large. 

All status change submissions must be made on the Phi Sigma Sigma website. Your status change is not approved and finalized until you receive a confirmation email. If your status change request is incomplete or does not include sufficient documentation, you will need to resubmit for approval. 

If you have a question about your status change request, please email statuschange@phisigmasigma.org with your first and last name, university and chapter letters.

STATUS  CRITERIA

ACTIVE

Enrolled at the institution with full participation privileges.

 

CHAPTER STATUS

Enrolled at the institution with an adapted participation plan.

This is a modified ACTIVE status. 

Customized participation plan as prescribed by the chapter's standards board.

Members interested in this status should notify MAL but will not need further action until the beginning of the fall semester.

LIMITED

Enrolled at the institution with limitations on availability to participate.

Available to sisters student teaching, in clinical rotation, internship, study abroad.

 

Documentation required.

ALUMNA

Not enrolled at the institution and either graduating (fall 2023), transferring or postponing education.

OR

Enrolled and wishes to discontinue participation in chapter activities and programming and qualifies as a final semester senior (graduating in spring 2024), fifth year senior, married member or graduate.

Financial circumstances are not an approved reason for status change requests. Phi Sigma Sigma offers several billing type options to accommodate individual financial circumstances. Billing type can be changed on the Phi Sigma Sigma website under "My Profile."

PRIVILEGES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 * Must be active while serving (2024 positions) or when taking office (2024 positions)
** Members who take alumna status as a final semester senior will be subject to $75 fee which includes a graduation stole and the first year of alumnae dues
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

  • Alumna - Final Semester Senior – proof of upcoming graduation, letter of support from archon, personal statement on why you are requesting this status.

  • Alumna - Fifth year senior – proof of fifth year, unofficial transcript is sufficient.

  • Left School Without Graduating – proof of withdrawal from university.

  • Transferred – proof or acceptance or enrollment at new university. 

  • Part Time Student – proof of part-time schedule. 

  • Extenuating/Personal Circumstance – personal statement, letter of support from chapter archon.
